Founder's Update – A Very Busy January
January has certainly started the year with a bang here at Gymnastics Reborn! It’s been an incredibly busy and productive month across all areas of the organisation, both on the gym floor and behind the scenes.
One of the highlights has been welcoming two groups of Year 6 boys from Woodland Middle School into the gym. It’s been fantastic to introduce them to gymnastics and give them the opportunity to experience our facilities and coaching first-hand. Opportunities like this are a great way for us to inspire young people and build strong links with local schools.
Behind the scenes, there has also been a lot happening. Our directors and trustees have been meeting regularly throughout January, focusing on the long-term development of the club and how we continue to improve what we offer for our members and staff. As part of this work, I’m really pleased to share that we have been able to enhance our staff benefits. Staff are now able to request additional paid compassionate leave, helping us better support our team when they need it most.
January has also been exceptionally busy with party bookings. Our gymnastics parties continue to grow in popularity, and the team has done an amazing job managing such a high demand while still delivering high-quality sessions and great experiences for families.
We’ve also had some very exciting meetings with the British Gymnastics Coach Development Team. These discussions have been focused on how they can work alongside us to support the development of our coaches and help us introduce new and exciting pathways within the club. This is a really positive step forward and something we are all looking forward to developing further.
Alongside this, we have completed the design of our full Demonstrator Programme and Young Leader Training Programme. These programmes have been carefully created to provide structured development routes for young people who are interested in becoming more involved in coaching and leadership within the club. Our staff have now been trained on how to deliver these programmes, and recruitment for both begins this week.
We’re also delighted that Nadia and the wider team at British Gymnastics will be working alongside us as we begin delivering these programmes, ensuring we are offering high-quality, supported development opportunities.
Overall, January has been a month full of progress, planning, and positive change. Thank you to our staff, trustees, and members for their continued support as we move into an exciting year ahead.
